Default transparent 'juice scuds'- variation of juice bugs

Just something I'm trying out- haven't fished with them yet. This week-end...? Simple segmented rope-dubbed bodies with clear UV goop (wader repair) over the top. The clear goop really hilights the segments. Sometimes I use a highlighter to add color to the clear shell. I have some more ideas- will post photos as I finish them.

VERY cool looking lfies. And with the Goop as backing, they should be tough as all get out. Nice pattern(s). Thanks for sharing.

They look great Don! I got some of that UV Clear Fly finish and some of the Knot Sense, but didn't get the wader repair I guess because I didn't look at it enough to see it was clear too. I have thought about getting some of the ones in colors too, but have not yet. I do like the Fly Finish, have not tried the Knot Sense yet.

I drove out to the river- still at flood stage, not safe to wade. Made a cast or two, but the line just got swept downstream- no drift at all. Will try them at another location when I do some travel in a few weeks.
Does anyone want to try a couple of these, if your fishing is good where you are? Send me a SASE and I'll send you a couple. I have dozens tied up to give away at the next fly show. This would be just as good.

Jim, Your samples are on the way. Thanks for the roo fur patch. Included a bunch of flies dubbed with it, along with a half doz. juice scuds.

Default A few more juice scuds

A few more juice scuds, using Jelly-rope, vinyl cement, and UV wader repair, with a couple shown under a little bit of black light:
