To get an idea of the age of the Fenwick you have take a look at the serial number. Here is the date range corresponding to the STARTING LETTER of the serial number:

Value is a function of age, condition and desirability / rareness of the rod. Lower line weights tend to command higher prices than 6 wt and above.
