    I like the second one. Your are much closer to the proportions of a real sculpin there. About one third of the length of a sculpin is the head with the fins being just a little shorter. You might want to trim the bottom of the head a little flatter both to look more realistic and to give more hook clearance. A bit of deer hair or bucktail as a tail under the wing would help discourage fouling of hook by the wing. Use hair that matches the bottom color of your head to effectively extend the belly of the fly. I googled sculpin pictures befrore I tried to design a fly and found the images helpfull
