Not many pics this year. Trouble with steelheading and picture taking is they are at their best at the same time of day.
High temps during the entire trip kinda put a damper on some of the fishing. Day time temps ranged from the mid-eighties to the low nineties. With no trees for shade it made the mid-days barely tolerable. Ice was at a premium with several trips to town for hard water made during the week. One flat tire at the bottom of the canyon. Luckily it didn't happen until I pulled into camp.
Fishing was so so for most of the week except for one day when it seemed a nice push of fish came thru. One guy in camp had eight hookups with seven landed. I believe that is the most I have seen for one guy in one day. Usually two to four steelhead a day would be considered normal.
A friend casting in a classic Ronde steelhead run.
