I will keep him and your family as well in my prayers John. It does sound like he is doing well
Dad's had a long week in ICU recovering from his bypass surgery last Monday. It wasn't until Saturday evening that he semi-opened his eyes on command. (Guess he was waiting for the chest tubes to be yanked before waking up.) Called the hospital before heading to church yesterday and he (finally) had been taken off the ventilator and "was talking". Saw him twice yesterday and he was more alert. And talking... other than a "yes" and "no" that were clear, we struggled to understand him. I figured out a couple words. But, the funniest, because its rather out of character for him, was last night while my wife was applying hand lotion to his hands and arms... plus it was very clear and rather loud... "My *** hurts!" LOL... Vicki's response was, "Well, I'm NOT putting lotion there!" Its going to be a long road, but its good to see and hear him talking. Hopefully, he'll be moved to an intermediate care room (before going to a regular room) today.
Consider it done. I will do a Mass for him tonight.
It sounds like he is recovering.... I'm very happy to hear about his progress. Best Regards......
