I went fishing today with Capt. Pete Greenan of the Gypsy Guide Service in Sarasota, Fla. Pete and I have fished together for 30 years. We had a great day today.
We launched this morning at Uncle Henry's in Boca Grande and went out into the Gulf of Mexico to look for false albacore. We found them, but really couldn't get very close. Pete did get one.
We went inside because the tide was right for reds. I was lucky enough to land three redfish on fly to 28 inches. One was a tailer! I caught the first two fish on my First Cast Crab. I caught the tailer on a Gartside Gurlger (at Pete's suggestion).
Three redfish in a day is really very good here -- especially in clear, shallow water.
