LF I have to admit to hauling a line now and then but I have been known to cast a fly 5 or 6 time to a rising fish without ever drying it but for the cast to pick it up and lay it back down on the water. One shot. I also find that I will hold 30 or so feet in the air without hauling and just fish that line adding a bit or taking away as needed. Just different ways of doing things. No biggy there.
billknepp- There are times that I will cast a long line to a rising fish because of the way they may be holding or for other reason. But I do believe in getting as close as you can to a fish before fishing to it. It keeps more line off the water which means less drag. Which means OH! you get the idea I am sure.
JC Will you hold my hand when I am casting? I need help Bad. Sorry I ment LF there. Ron
