I apologize in advance for what follows but I can't resist commenting on this as it is on of those things in life that peeves me.

I can see paying a little more for an environmental plate since the money they raise goes to a good cause. However, vanity plates are for vane people. Most of us don't give a flip if you ski or fish or whatever while we are driving. I will know you like to fish when I see you out there with rod in hand and grin on face. Just do it!
