There were plenty of sheep, elk, bison, coyotee and other critters close to the road. The only wolves around were very far off, even for the wolf hounds and their big scopes. There was, however, a grizz still out and about on an elk kill not too far from the Lamar valley. We did not get to see the grizz, but he was seen very recently.
There were sheep down along the road just in the Park, along the Gardner river. This is a very likely place to see them in the fall and winter. While dragging our Christmas tree out we had to wait while a decent sized ram took his time walking down the road. That was about as close to a ram that I want to be. This was outside the Park, up on *&%!*@&% creek.
