Borger's Designing Trout Flies, which still sits on the shelf, has always been a disappointment. I keep riffling through it, hoping for some great insight, and never find one.
His Presentation is a doozy, too.
The constant self-promotion grates. It will be OK if I never read another story about the Borger family, though they're probably nice folks. I got the book to learn more about fly fishing, not Jason's brilliance.
Compare Borger's books with Gary LaFontaine's, and you'll see what I mean.
