They respond to a variety of chow - most of mine are caught on small nymphs, the same standard patterns used on trout - like the Pheasant tail, AP Black, etc. They can be really spooky and when spawning will ignore flies completely.

They're vegetation eaters, but they have a taste for much more than that - and Grass Carp love to hang around hydrilla beds. They are a worthy prey and as can be every bit as difficult as trout.
