Haven't caught a muskrat yet but did have a beaver slapping the water scare the #$%? out of me. About made me pee down one leg of the waders. Another hazard of fishin' in the dark. He kept on splappin over and over, so I yelled at him," Hey cut it out! Your scaring all the fish!" Didn't do any good so I packed it in.

Last night I went close to the same place where I caught the bat, but a little upstream. Man, the trout were hitting my little elk hair caddis like crazy. It seems as though a switch gets thrown in their heads that says "eat, eat" when the twilight is gone. I missed about half of what I caught because I was operating on feel only. I couldn't see the line or the fly but when they take it there is no doubt.

I'm wondering if a little touch of glow in the dark stuff at the end of the flyline might help in detecting strikes in the dark.

Anybody ever try this?
