    Default Rod tube

I built a rod tube today in anticipation for my TFO Proffessional 8' 6" 3wt, That will be coming in the mail in a few days. It only comes in a rod sock so I figured I should build a tube for it for protection. I also Wrote the rod details in metallic sharpie, Then put a bit of clear coat spray paint over the whole thing to give it some gloss and keep the writing from getting scratched up to badly.
    Heres a few pics:

    Total Cost: $5.00
Can't wait for the rod to get here.

Good work, Chris. I have a few of those in service as well. In my business I end up with short lengths of plastic pipe quite frequently, so I've started to make these rod tubes quite inexpensively. FYI, Rust-Oleum makes a plastic paint in a spray can if you want to jazz up your tube. of course, this will add a couple of bucks to the overall cost of your tube, but one spray can did (2) tubes and there's still paint left in the can for touchup.

I've made some w/ PVC and paint, too, until I stumbled across http://www.versitex.com/versitex/product.html?Id=CC11FC . . . by the time you add the cost of the tubing and paint, this guy's price makes our home?made outfits literally a labor of love, and we still don?t have his foam lining !
