Interesting site.
This spring, I started using the Orvis knot for my leader/tippet connection and the Davy or a non-slip loop knot to tie on the fly, and I had multiple breakoffs of the tippet. I switched back to a 3 turn surgeon, which may be bulky, but I have never had fail, that I can remember.

I like the Davy knot more and more. It is simple, and gives right away if not right. I will have to try it in the salt before I pass final judgement--blues, drum and spanish mackeral pull harder than bass and bluegill. I may stick with the Trilene in salt water.
