?It was quite a sight to see such a large number of large fish,? he said, adding the number is in the thousands. ?There was a lot of three-and-a-half, four and five pound trout.?
MacDougall said a variety of fish, including rainbow trout, speckled trout and young salmon, looked as though they all died around the same time.
?That?s usually an indication of an acute toxicity, that something in the water killed them,? he said. ?It's possibly (caused) by the rain event we had on Friday.?
Although it has yet to be confirmed, MacDougall said the most likely reason the fish died is due to pesticide poisoning.
