( Do not know the line weight. Joe Frost was a well known guide in the 1950's and this was a rod made to his design specifically for Taupo (New Zealand) conditions of fairly large fish fished downstream with a fairly large lure. it was considered one of the premium rods in its time. Walker Brampton was located close to Hardy and there was some movement of craftsmen between the two firms).
