I have, and have read John Merwin's "The New North American Trout Fishing". He does go into a bunch of the history of fly fishing, still in all the book is a real wealth of valid ,thought provoking information. It can be used by the beginner as well as the more experienced angler as a go to book. Definetly a full spectrum book. Well worth the time to read.
Since I live in Mo. I pay attention to Chuck and Sharon Tryon's book "Fly fishing for trout in Missouri" . It's a good book too and does'nt just apply to Mo.
Both good reads.
