Both canoes are 16 ft and as you can see the Beast is a square back.
The Beauty was purchased new in New York.
The Beast was also in Neew York, but used

The Beauty has very light glass layer on the out side and only varnish on the inside.
It is put together with brass nails through the ribbing that are filed smooth
I varnish the inside and outside every year.
It is a very smooth paddling canoe that I take to the local mountains. We are very carefull were we launch her.
Would put the weight around 35lbs

The Beast has a very thick fiberglass coat.
We have hit a few rocks in it with out damage. The inside has no ribbing and is very smooth.
There is also very thick fiberglass layer on the inside.
Would put the weight around 75 lbs

It does paddle fine but not as smooth as the Beauty,
but with the help of a electric trolling motor we travel upstream fine.
I bought it so the kids could beat it up and not the Beauty.
Now the kids are older I want to get the Beast back in shape.
Since I have owned it,it has had the yellow fiberglass over the wood.
I will sand on the Beast every weekend while I am at home, so to get it ready for the fiberglass man. Do not know how the Beast was put together since there is no nails or ribbing that I can see.
Will do the out side first the the inside.
From what I can see it should be a fine looking canoe once done.
Then we will have to think of another name for it.
