    I'm don't understand this ...slipping stuff on the bobbin stuff....since you can just slit the straw

    I've done the slit straw and it worked most of the time with a little finess. I did have some trouble with the straw twisting and torqueing and not holding all of the hackles that slipped through the slit in the straw. The slit method works, but I think there are better ways.

    Thanks for posting the question ,I always wondered about that also.
    I use a 1/4 inch piece of oxygen tubing, and slip it over the end of the bobbin ----then over the eye of the hook .
