How does line go through the ferrules ?????? The only proper join is a splice, waxed thread wound carefully, whip finished and rolled. Never known to fail if properly done. And it goes through rings like a charm. Jim Clarke
If you are hunting trophys in the salt I'd suggest a double Bimmini twist.
Lineside,,, yup, thinking that too for the gel backing. But, still like the Albright for the line end.
Could...anything that catches on the ferrules is a negative and could cost a fish...read that trophy...in a perfect world,,, I don't want to feel or hear a click if something goes through my ferrule...
A little confused on this one. Ferrule is where
rod pieces connect, how does your line effect that?
Are you talking about GUIDES?
GUIDES....indeed unfortunately not the first time I've done that ...and I'm not even dyslexic though sometimes I wonder
You called? Why the shot?I know.. I know... I was just hoping that the Castwell Knotzi would make an appearance if I mentioned it.
Having just read all the upper comments I would suggest that a BRADED LOOP be attached to the line then a tucked blood knot to this for the backing.
Brian.
"Backing to line knot....how about the Castwell?"
If you're so unsure how about that Allbright? A standard!
SPLICE IT !!!!!!
