Here is a great web site for those of us addicted to the boo:

Thanks for all the good advice! I'm slowly progressing in getting the corrosion off of the guides--pretty grungy. And the reel seat is bent, got that removed yesterday and got it gently beat back into shape, going to remount it this weekend.

AND, my new (old) Ocean City 306 reel to match it just arrived from Len Codella, I found him from another posting on FAOL. 30 bucks, he'd cleaned and oiled it, and even put backing on it (didn't know I'd get backing, too!) A very nice guy.

Pictures and a fishing trip with it next week, if all goes well!

Hey danbob, after doing some research, I learned that the Ocean City Reel Co. bought out the Montague Co. in the 30's. So, you reel and your rod may well have been made by the exact same company. Pretty cool, huh? Enjoy your rod, and fish with it as often as possible.

That's why Len Codella recommended that reel for my Monty! I'm chompin' at the bit now to get it ready for fishing.
