mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark, wrap to point above barb, create bump
strip fibers off 2 hackles, trim tips, measure (shank length); tie in/trim
clean, stack, measure (tips gap width past bend) a clump of deer hair; trim to length, tie in with 2 soft loops, allowing hair to circle shank, tighten
spiral wrap to point above barb; cross-wrap forward, return to 2/3 mark
clean, stack, measure (tips to bend) another clump of deer hair; trim to length, tie in
