Guys, you really should give it a try, it's not hard at all. The best thing about rod building is that you can create your own custom rod that suits you. And, you can do it for less $ than most high quality factory rods.
I have $165 into the rod in the pictures above, and I didn't go the cheap route on components either. There are custom builders that would charge $300 or more for that same build. I saved a lot of money by building it myself, and had fun during the whole process.
