This week I wrote about springtime and dry flies here in the Cumberland Valley... and we got another damned snowstorm!

Maybe next week I'll tell the tale of yak fishing from a confirmed powerboater.

We had 70 degree temps for a day and then back to snow. I ghotta get out of here. Next trip will be western North Carolina at the end of the month. Maybe this year we'll see some hatches and more rising trout. The only thing I saw rise in FLA was a dolphin. Do they hit dries?

Thunderthumbs had the only successful "dry" fly fishing I saw in FLA when he took a 2' snook on a gurgler. I heaved poppers and gurglers without a touch. Maybe they would have liked a riffled hitch?

The salty bug has taken hold of me again so I'm thinking of heading north to Cape Cod sometime this summer. Heck, maybe I'll even get out on the Chesapeake!
