    Default Woolly swap

    THIS SWAP IS FULL!

I'm going to try my hand in hosting a swap, if the interest is there. I would like to see everyone's woolly patterns of choice. It is open to buggers, worms, grubbers, or any other woolly _____ type pattern you might like to send.

Limit of 6 swappers + me (it is my first, so I'm going to keep it smaller), 2 flies per person (tie 12).
Sign up deadline is August 26. Flies need to be to me by Sept 16.
All flies MUST be toe tagged, including name, handle, pattern name and size.
Post your recipe if it is something very unusual.
Include $3.85 for priority mail postage for the return trip via USPS.
I will e-mail you as you sign up with details where to ship to.

I'm going to experiment with a woolly grubber pattern, but I'll change it to a woolly bugger if I can't make it look how I want it to be. I'll finalize my choice by this weekend.

Here is the current list of participants:
    Ol' Blue: wooly grubber (completed)
    AJSB: woolly bomber (received)
    Shenandoahangler: fluff butts (received)
Copper Dropper: pink maribou bugger (received)
    Irondragon013: black bugger (received)
    white43: peacock bugger (shipped)
Danny Gober: down and dirty bugger (received)

Flies shipped on Monday (Sept 19) and should be arriving on Wednesday for most of you using priority mail.

I'm in. I'll tie up some fluff butts size 10. Great for crappie and bluegill.

    Shenandoahangler,

You don't have an e-mail listed. Get me an e-mail, and I'll send you the shipping info. I don't like posting stuff publically more than I have to.

I'd like to do some bead head buggers, but they're my own variation. Is that okay? Frankly, I prefer my own tie over store bought stuff around me (North East). If that's okay I'm in. Although I'm a newbee here. don't know if that matters.

If room I'll do a peacock bugger. Just so I get a clue, what size do you trout folks like. I typically tie this on size 10 dry fly hook. Might as well give up the recipe:
    Thread: black 6/0
    Tail: wisp of red zonker
Body: peacock herls/green grizzly hackle, palmered.

Great bluegill fly. Have caught crappies, channel cats and even bass on them. Also will do an underlay of lead. I'll tie one with lead wraps, one without. JGW

    CD:
Sounds great. That sort of variation is what I had in mind when I started this thing. The woolly family is one of the best patterns out there, and I think it will be cool to see how everyone adapts them to fit in their area.

    White43:
I mostly fish bass and panfish, so as far as I'm concerned, tie your personal favorite.

E-mails are going out today for everyone. Thanks for joining.

Still room for one more. Next post for the spot gets it.
