Last night I caught a couple of medium sized bluegill, I think. They had a rose colored blush on the bottom side. I haven't seen a rose colored blush before. Is this still a bluegill? The spines did not seem as pronounced either. ( I always use a fuzzy glove when I have to handle fish.) Also caught a 13' LBM. All on a yellow gertside gurgler because the algae was overgrowing the pond. I had to fish to the splash, to catch anything, was not able to pull anything out of lethargy because of the weeds. ( Float tubes are forbidden and I don't have one anyway. ) Any one have good suggestions as to how to fish from shore, and catch fish in very green, very algae'd, water?

We use very heavy tippets (leaders?) and rods for brush bustin'.

Sounds like a Red Breasted Sunfish.
