    Default Abel customer service can't be beat!

    I broke the wooden handle on one of my abel reels over the weekend. On Monday morning I called expecting to pay for a new one. Today I recieved two replacement handles in the mail, no charge. It's treatment like this that keeps me coming back for more sexy little reels.

    good thing they didn't charge you! those handles probably sell for $100 a piece!

    Hey Benjo,

    When I lost the handle off of my little
    Scientific Anglers System 1, I sent them an
    email asking how much and where do I get it.
    Their reply was freebie...and they sent me
    two (2) replacements.*G* Now if Abel has
    good service, SA has great service.*G*

    Jim, wouldn't that be equivalent service? You both got the two of the same thing for the same price.

    Ok, not to burst your bubbles, but....i broke the handle off of an orvis multiplier 9 wt. reel. the handle isn't just the nob but an inticate part of the reel. i called orvis and they said they'd send one right out. the next day in my mail box was a BRAND NEW orvis multiplier 8 wt.reel There was a note saying they didn't have the handle for the 9 wt., but to keep this reel and they'd send the 9 wt. handle when it came in. About 3 weeks latter i got the 9 wt. handle. Now that's service!!!

    I think for the price of the reels (all manuf's) they all should have service like that......just my opinion tho
