    MrsKnepp,
Now there's ANOTHER thing that should have been mentioned in "favorite foods". Stuffed beel peppers. What could I have been thinking to forget that delicious dish. I assume you make one heck of a sauce/gravy to put this over linguini. Sounds outtasight.

    PS: "bell" peppers too.

A favorite meal for me was Rabbit with potatoe dumplings and sweet sour gravy. My mother used to make it, but I don't even have a recipe. Now I would love to have pizza with the works, but now I can't eat anything made with flour, or dairy, or eggs, or yeast.

There are 'flours' of rice, and potatoes available at super markets. All will make good dumplings. I'll provide a recipe if you need it. *S*

    Let's see,,, favorite food,,,,,

As long as it isn't too spicey, they don't agree with me, I LIKE IT ALL!!!

That is my biggest problem, and it makes me bigger!! Have trouble remembering to take smaller portions, especially when there are so many items to try!

An old-fashion, New England clambake on the beach with a keg of good beer or ale near by. 8T

    Well, here is your desert:

    Traditional Shoo-fly Pie
    Makes two 9-inch pies
Line two 9-inch pie pans with homemade crust and chill. (Or chill store-bought unbaked piecrusts.)
    Bottom:
    1 cup molasses
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 cup warm water
Stir baking soda into warm water. Add molasses. Stir until foamy.
    Crumbs:
    2 cups flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 to 1/3 cup butter
Mix flour, sugar and baking soda. Use pastry blender to cut shortening into flour mixture until it makes very fine crumbs.
Pour molasses mixture into chilled piecrusts. Sprinkle crumbs over the top. Bake in oven at 425 degrees F. for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F. and bake until crust is browned and the filling is set, usually about 35 minutes.

Enjoy a little "Dutch Treat". You all have earned it.

Larry, amen to the fried gar, but I like mine seasoned with some good old Cajun seasoning, rolled in corn meal and fried in peanut oil! Sho-nuf good! Got a bag of gar tenderloins in the freezer right now.

Harold, don't get me started about the Florida Fish-in stuff (Harold tends to start trouble in coffee shops).

Rich, when you get here, I know just the place to get a good meal...MY HOUSE!
