Default Welcome Home Discovery and Well Done!!!

I have seen my share of flight crews. Some were not good and some were great but few compares to the crew of Discovery! They are what military aviators call "**** Hot"! Welcome home gang and congratulations on a job well done!

I fish directly west of the launch area, and have been witness to almost every launch. To watch the Discovery with bare eyes lift from the Earth was a "lump in the throat" experience, right up there with the very first launch. Eileen and crew...well done. I missed the sonic booms though. When we hear them, I always look up and say, "Welcome home."
Several years ago (199 Johnny Walker and I were fishing the Indian River and the shuttle came in right over our heads...what a rush!

It would be cool if we could get one of our astronauts to do some fly casting in space. Wonder if N.A.S.A. could spray the external tank with Zapa Gap to solve the foam problems?

Hawk...I can hear it now, "I can cast a fly ten thousand feet up here. Do you suppose Cortland could build an "out of this world" flyline?"

    Flats Dude, ...

10,000 feet, ... sure someone will say, ... but is that including the leader?

(and a Well Done! to the flight crew)

Fly fishing in space .... I'm not to sure I'd want to reel in what ever bit on the end of a 10,000 foot cast . Does orvis make a reel that carries 10,000 ft of line and 20,000 ft of backing . Would that be a 100wt sage rod ? I know that Castwell would be the caster . I can see it now , all of you stand at least 15,000 ft back clear of my backcast . LOL

As for the discovery Crew , Outstanding ! Welcome home to the "Good earth" . I stand in Awe , Job well done
For God's sake, Don't Quote me! I'm Probably making this crap up!

I just want to know how Mr. Castwell will be able to keep his backcast "high"? High in relation to what?

I suspect that an olive wooley bugger will be how we find life in space.

Better men (and women) than I were needed and apparently found to do what these brave souls did.
I can't even imagine the nerve it took .I too welcome them back and thank them for their contribution to science.
