Any thoughts on using an 11 wht. line on a 9ft. rod made for a 9 wht. line Thanks Mike

Will load faster, is probably a little heavy yo get those long casts and its alot better than no line at all. I generally stay with the weight the rod calls for, but if you've got a heavier line and a lighter pocketbook, go for it.

I sometimes put an 11 wt line on a 9 wt Redington that I have as a backup saltwater rod. Works just fine. Slows the rod down a bit but once you get the timing down you can fire off some rockets. Particularly useful on a windy day.
