Thread: Headed to Crooked Island

  1. Default Headed to Crooked Island

Anyone been to the Bahamas recently that would care to comment on flies the bones were chasing? Thanks.

    Meadowlark2, enjoy the fishing.

    #1 JC"S Pink Puff 4-8
    #2 Crazy Charlies 6-8
    #3 Gottchas 6-8
    #4 Crab flies 4-8

The colors to match the bottom of what your fishing. Pink, Tan, and darker if you are hitting the grass flats.

A weed guard would be in order and some with a little weight to get down quicker.

My best shot to help out

Gotchas still work. I have a whole box devoted to Gotchas. I tie them in a variety of sizes (2-6) with different eyes to be able to fish them in all different conditions.

Yep, Gotchas still work! I caught 32 bones in 3 days. If any of you subscribe to the Angling Report, you can catch my report in an upcoming issue. The operation on Crooked Island has new management and the article in AR will address the "before and after" relative to the management change.

Bonefish are still bonefish and still like the Gotchas best of anything else I threw at them.
