    Default Fishing the lower Hudson

Maybe I was asking the question of the wrong guys but on the Fly tying site I rec'd no replies. I'll ask again.

A relative of mine has just moved to the lower Hudson Valley and will be fishing for blues and stripers. He is experienced in flyfishing outside the continental U.S. for salmon and large trout. I would like to tie some flies for him but would appreciate some guidance on patterns etc.
    Thsnks.

A pretty universal fly for stripers and blues are Clousers and Deceivers. That is where I would start. Maybe a top water fly as well.

You may wish to tie some peanut bunker imitations as well. Looks like a deceiver with a tall profile. White, green and darker green on the back.

    Good luck
