    Default Emu feathers

What is a substitute for Emu feathers that I've seen called for in some recipes? Visually they seem to be like a very large ostrich herl.

You could use aftershaft feathers, you know, the "other" feather under all pheasant body feathers. They have a nice taper, and are very fluffy. CJ

    Hello Ray,

You might want to give Kate a call at Siskiyou Aviary, 541-488-2835 or visit:

I have some of her superb rhea feathers. Very close cousin of the emu. They might just be what you are looking for.

    Cheers,
