    Default Holy Water

My son and I will once again venture to the Au sable for the brown drake hatch in June.Lodging is the issue,or I mean money is the real issue.Last year for our first time up their we stayed at Gates.Food and lodging were outstanding, but on a budget once again, any recomendations on campgrounds close by,Gaylord has a KOA,anyone stayed there?

i think that is first come first serve. Wakely is definitely worth checking out though. One of the best fishing lakes in the state.

I would check out the canoe harbor campground south of 72 in the Mason tract.
the south branch also has a great Brown drake hatch and the holy waters are only a few miles up the road. This state campground amazes me that more people don't stay there.

There is also a campground ON the Holy Water, check out Keystone Landing on the Mainstream.
They moved the actual campground away from the water just a bit, but we used to stay there often (like every weekend). It is where JC and I were married

Now I need a recipe for camp coffee,is it always made with egg shells?Mine never seems to taste like coffee.More like mud.
Jeff/John thanks for the info on Wakley and canoe harbor.Maybe a couple nights at each,could/should stretch this into a week of camping.

Is that why that stretch of the river is called the Holy Water?

    Yes,
Keystone Landing is on the holy water. It is a small campground if I am remembering correctly. I caught my first ausable brown right in front of the road there.
I think Wakely Lake you have to Hike / backpack in from 72. If you don't mid me asking do you only plan on fishing the holy waters?
