    Default Canyon Ferry Jigs

I have a friend over in Helena who wants me
to tie him up some 1/4 - 1/8 oz. leadhead jigs. I've never seen one so don't know how to proceed with his request. Can anyone out there give me a pattern recipe or post a picture of one or give me some hints on tying instructions? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Bitterroot,

There are many different style jig heads. Ask your friend if ther is a particular style he is using or prefers. There is a small extension of lead leading from the head along the hook shank and is for tying or applying what is called the skirt. There are hair jigs, usually tied with bucktail, rubber skirted jigs that can be tied or attached with a rubber collar, and then there are rubber and hair jig combos. I do not have an immediate web site for you to look at, and I don't know how to post pictures but am willing to help in whatever way I can.

    Good Luck

There are just so many ways to tie jigs, and I have only mentioned a few. Try to pinpoint your friend down a little bit.
