Craft Fur

Have any patterns (recipes)been offered based on the use of Craft Fur. I've found it to be nice soft crinkled stuff butis usually very short and its equivalent of underfur is just too much. Has anyone taken on this challenge ?

Ray, A good friend of mine uses them on mini-clousers (trout sized, he calls them). He tells me that the action is excellent on the small clousers whereas bucktail would be too stiff.

It is good for small clousers and such. My most productive S/W pattern is a FeatherCraft Sand Shrimp made w/ it.
I've found some w/ longer fibers at craft stores.

Ray...it makes one of the best minnow imitations Ive ever seen! The trick to using it is, cut a large chunk of it and hold the longer fibers while pulling out the underfur til you get the thickness you want. Then, switch hands, and pull out the long fibers til you get the length you want. Hope this helps some.......Jason

What Feenom said...as well as a few others above...I also prefer the thicker/Fuller stuff found in craft stores..as you also get 3x as much for 1/2 the price!!!
