    Default Mallard Flank

There are several posts on here concerning wood duck flank. Unfortunately I do not have access to surplus quantities of wood duck feathers. However, I have a great deal of mallard flank. So much so that I have been discarding it. In the interest of getting these beautiful feathers in the hands of creative tyers. As RonMT pointed out it can be dyed w/ red onion to yield an acceptable substitute for wood duck. I personally love tying with flank feathers from all of the species of drake puddle ducks. I will give away a generous quantity of high quality northern drake mallard flank feathers to anyone who sends me a post paid self addressed envelope.

I couple of things I forgot to mention. First just email me or respond to this post and I will email my physical address. Secondly I have a cache of mallard wings also. Not as many, but if anybody wants them I will send a pair 'till they are gone. Just specify whether you want wings or flank or both. I can't swear they will be matched, but I will do the best that I can and give you at a right and left wing.

    Ron,

I would greatly enjoy getting some flank feathers from you. I died a small pack last week in the red onion skins and I was happy with the result. Thanks for the offer.

Ok, I am gong to have to cut this off as my supply of feathers is now spoken for. It didn't take long. Tip, if want wings you need to incude an envelope that is at least 11" long, otherwise a 6"x9" will do.

Mike Plummer and Bassman your envelopes were too short for mallard wings so I substituted smaller species of wings. They will go out tomorrow.
