Industry Market Share

Hello

I have spent hours and hours trying to locate even a vague representation of the market share distribution of the flyfishing industry (rod & reel). If anyone has a ball park idea or access to the AFFTA survey results I would much appreciate it. I need this info for a psuedo marketing plan for a class I am taking, sources will not be cited. Any help is much appreciated.

Check at asafishing.org. You may have to call them, (e-mail also should work). They should be able to give you comparative statistics. I'm assuming that you're trying to find out how big fly fishing is in the overall tackle industry.

The 'standard' for rod makers is they sell about 10% of fly rods to 90% spin or casting.

The 'so-called' AFFTA survey is bogus. It was based on a number of 'random' phone calls to the general population. Disregard it.
