    Default Bully Spider Tying problem

The Bully spider, a fun fly for catching bream, is causing me a major problem. I have been unable to get the rubber to come out at the correct angles. Mine are just sloped all over the place at different angles, and I'm unable to get them them athe the right angles as displayed in various web photos. Can anyone help me?

Just started tying the bully spider myself. The trick seems to be to get the legs stacked on top of each other - this causes the top pair to kinda stand up. Keep them pushed up against the lead/body material and build a ramp in front of them. Then just figure-8 your thread over around and thru the legs to get them to do what you want. Pull them into position with your thread raps. Sounds worse than it is. Try this site - [url=http://www.warmwaterflyfishers.com/flymouth/FOTM032002.htm:10a80]www.warmwaterflyfishers.com/flymouth/FOTM032002.htm[/url:10a80] This is the best instructions I've found for the weighting and legs.

Try wrapping the rubber leg around the thread before you place it on the hook. You can put it where you want it and then can tie it in easier.

    Hope this helps.

Funny, I thought spiders had eight legs? What does this redneck know, huh?
