'bout how big a hook was that? Was it a big round fluffy ball, or more flattened like a potato chip? Chips are highly prized carp food.

I took white llama hair abut 1/2 ' inllenght and put it in a dubbing loop. Wrapped it fairly tight and wound on a size 8 hook.. I had caught a few gills the day before on it so it was fairly frazzeled.

Thank you!
Happy Carping!
Have to share this...
Many years ago in Iowa City some neighbors invited us for a fish dinner but would not tell us what kind. I hate to admit it but fish is not one of my first choices and especially one considered a trash fish. Of course it was indeed carp and was absolutely delicious.
They came out of the Iowa River...I think that's the one going through Iowa City...and in those days we didn't think of all the pollution and toxins.
As I recall they are quite bony???
My brother has a way of filleting Northern pike so they are totally boneless....wonder if that would work on trout?
Anyway don't over look them as a food source.
By the way Rick, where is Lamoni?
