Going to try and tie LaFontaine's twisted nymph and calls for Golden Badger hackle mixed with grizzly hackle. Any idea what would substitute for Golden Badger?

Badger hackle has a dark center. Golden probably means it is darker cream at the tips rather than the almost-white of some light badger hackle. I would just go with dark ginger. You could probably even run a black marker down the quill to make a good imitation.

A Furnace hackle or a Greenwell should do the trick. If you shop around you'll find that there is a great variation in the various Furnace/Greenwell skins on offer.
