Thread: Classic Alantic Salmon Flies.

    Default Classic Alantic Salmon Flies.

    Ok. This is a total cut and paste job from a post I made over at UTOF. It's my text and my webspace so I figure I can do what I want. Anyway, here goes....

    Many Years Ago, my Dad aquired several cane rods and several boxes of classic altantic salmon flies. The gentleman that originally owned the collection worked at the original Abercrombie and Fitch in NYC when they were a real outfitter and before they started selling trendy clothes at the mall. Anyway, these flies are awesome. They're are about 10 boxes. Some are packed full, others are pretty sparse. We guess that the flies were orignally tied in the 50's or 60's. The ones on my webspace are about 400k and of higher resolution. I'm a better fisherman than I am a photographer. I hope you all enjoy them...

    Lonnie;

    Thank you so much for sharing!!! That just adds to my desire to tie more of the classic wet flies.

    I notice that some of the full dress flies have a red band around the head, like Carrie Stevens did on her streamers. Anyone know the origins of this? These are the first salmon flies I've seen with this band.
