Wooly worm.
I would have to say the rubber legged bluegill spider or the thread bodied ant
British yarn Nympth
Best color olive
best size 10 scud hook
thread midges and brassies are pretty simple.
After teaching 40 kids how to tie midges, wooly worms, wooly buggers, and ugly bugs - I would definately say an ugly bug. We have a variation in this neck of the woods and we call it a Bailey bug - basically four legs (easiest if tied on before separating the legs) and chenille. The kids loved tying this fly and when I added foam to it last week - they finally said that their flies are starting to look professional. I would definately go with the Bailey Bug.
im gonna have to go with a ufo. Its all thread... where's the difficulty?

Guess I'd have to say the San Juan worm.

hey allan,
you know it requires a delicate touch with the lighter to get the proper taper at the ends. a certain amount of dexterity is necessary to pull this off w/ panache.
