I keep them in plastic bags, usually inside a second plastic storage bin. A couple of 35mm film containers (liberally perforated with a heated bodkin) filled with whole cloves goes in each bin. The scent is less objectionable to me and seems to repel bugs but not fish. I think I read this on FAOL and copied the idea from here... So far so good...

Store all my material's very carefully,But I still keep a few loose...feathers,such as pheasant tail, turkey tail and the such that I use often in a glass on my desk..never had a prob. But anything attached to a skin or hide is in airtight storage container's it's usually the fats and such in say a neck for example that an insect will be looking tofeed on...not the feather fibers.and it looks nice too..
    Wish ya great fishing,Bill
