I have seen a pattern or two for grass eating carp...one was imitating a berry....do any of you have favorite patterns for such carp?
How many of you have fished for them?

I think they were in a back issue of Fly Tyer. One was cork while the other was spun deer hair. Both dark purple with red mixed in.
I tie my berry flies using chenille.
I will point out that there is a ton of misinformation regarding imitations of "unnatural" food sources for carp, whether they are commons or grassies.
Everyone seems to think that carp eat bread flies, berry flies, corn flies and the like just because they imitate bread, berries, corn, etc. Carp won't even look at those flies unless they have actually become accoustomed to eating those food sources, so unless you know those flies imitate something they are getting on a regular basis, you are better off sticking with other imitations.
That said, go out everyday and throw 5 or 10 lbs. of boiled field corn in your favorite carping venue for a couple of weeks and then you can go back with a bit of yellow chenille wrapped around a hookshank and pick up all the carp you care to.
Just my $.02 worth.
