    Default Pale Evening Duns

Is anyone out there that have any patterns for this darn species?

Try looking about for "sulphur," Ephemerella invaria, Ephemerella rotunda, or Ephemerella dorthea.

You should a generous supply of imitations from which to chose.

Here's the pattern that i use.

    Thread: Cream
Tail: Light Blue Dun hackle fibers
    Body: Pale Yellow dubbing
Wings: Light Blue Dun hackle tips
    Hackle: Medium Blue Dun

Not really much difference between a Sulpher Dun and the Pale Evening Dun.

Steelheader... There was a similar question here just a few days ago. I did some digging and what I came up with was that a Light Hendricksen more than suffices for a PED.

I guess from your location your talking about the eastern species. For the western version I have used Light Cahills or a simple parachute pattern with a white post, cream dubbed body and ginger hackle.

The ones I need are eastern, I know they are not Ephemerella Dorthea though. I was kind of looking for some nymphs and emergers.

Thats funny. I asked the exact same question a few days ago. There are a couple of answers in my post.

    Ryan:

    Here's what I use:

The E. invaria and E. rotunda are bigger and hatch earlier and the nymph is darker:

    Emerger for the same:

For the dun I use a comparadun (split fibett tails, yellow body, dun hair wing) but a Catskill version works well in heavier water.

The spinner has an amber body and sparse dun poly wings match it quite well.
