Thread: Dry flies.............why?

    Default Dry flies.............why?

I just ordered some more capes from Denny with the intention of tying a heck of alot more drys. Of course I haven't trout fished since I left Alaska in 2000. All my fishing since then has been either in the salt or chasing some gills and bass around in Florida.

Size 14 Red Quills and size 16 Blond Wulffs are hardly effective in the salt. I just can't stop tying the dang things. Bet I have 1,500 by now.

But when I do get back to Alaska I shouldn't have to tie for years.

Hey, if you need someone to test those flies to make sure they are not losing their effectivness sitting in a box, feel free to send me a few.

I don't know, but it sure IS fun to tie some flies you won't be using once in a while.
