Marking Sections?

A question for those of you who build multi-piece rods.

Do you use any identifying marks to make lining up of the sections easier? If so, what type of 'marks' do you use or do you 'inlay' some sort of design or feather? I'm thinking of inlaying tiny jungle cock eyes on the sections of a 4 piece blank I'm going to build.

I do use lining marks. Your use of jc feathers sounds grand. Mind if we use it also?
