    Default Articulated Mouse pattern

This pattern is a bit "fussier" than most in that I have to get the wire formed for the head the exact length. The articulated body with the Fly Lipps on this mouse pattern gives it very nice action in the water. I like a slow 6-inch strip retrieve to get this to wiggle and then let it set for a minute between strips. It seems to draw strikes the moment I start the next strip. It takes a bit more time to make this pattern, but it is fun to make and well worth the effort. https://gifyu.com/image/SicSy

Thanks, Dennis. I only started "carving" Balsa poppers a few months ago, but I find it lots of fun and it gives me more options for the LM Bass here in Central Florida.

Very interesting pattern. Wonder if crappie would take it.

I'm sure a large one might give it a go, but I haven't had much luck catching Crappie on topwater. They primarily feed on small fish especially in larger lakes so my go-to Crappie baits all imitate their prey items.
