    Default Knots

The knot I use to attach the fly to the tippet is the Turle Knot. 100% strength. It is a lot like the Orvis Knot but with the Orvis Knot the fly stays within the loop as you tie and with the Turle Knot, the fly is allowed so slip down the tippet then slid back up to go thru the loop. I've never fished a tandem rig. It's' hard enough for me to keep one fly where it belongs. Line to leader = Blood Knot. Leader to tippet= Perfection Loop. Tippet to fly = Improved Clinch.
Where you go is less important than how you take the steps.

Growing up where there are no trout, I'm a better bream fisherman than a trout fisherman, but I fish tandem rigs for both, depending upon circumstances, I use the Duncan, aka Uniknot for attaching flies to leader and dropper to floating fly. My all time best result was 32 bream, mostly shellcrackers on 16 casts, non-consecutive.
